What are the causes of the asynchrony of my patient with COVID-19?. Med. crít. (Col. Mex. Med. Crít.) [online]. 2022, vol.36, n.1, pp.55-58.  Epub Oct 28, 2022. Patients with COVID-19 infection present more and more frequent extrapulmonary complications, such as neurological, cardiovascular, and kidney disorders, among others. Asynchronies, pain, and opioid withdrawal while on mechanical ventilation are frequent causes of delayed release of supports that lead to other related problems such as self-inflicted injury, infections, weakness, malnutrition, and death. We present a proposal for the management of this type of patient.

Keywords : SARS-CoV-2; delirium; pain; asynchronies; abstinence; COVID-19.
