Abstract

Primary thyroid leiomyosarcoma represent less than 1% of all thyroid tumors. Surgery is the mainstay of the treatment, however, to date, despite the use of chemotherapy the mortality is high. The aim of this report is report the longest survival in a metastatic stage. We report a case of primary thyroid leiomyosarcoma with liver metastases in a young adult, who underwent surgery of the thyroid, and chemotherapy consisting of docetaxel and gemcitabine with good tolerance. The patient has 2-year survival until the last follow-up.
