Abstract

GARCIA-MANZANO, Roberto A. et al. Fibrolamelar hepatocarcinoma. Literature review and case report. Gac. mex. oncol. [online]. 2021, vol.20, suppl.1, pp.90-94.  Epub Aug 22, 2022. ISSN 2565-005X.  https://doi.org/10.24875/j.gamo.20000071.

Introduction:

Hepatocellular fibrolamellar carcinoma is rare, with unique pathogenesis (genomic, histological, clinical, and epidemiological). The curative treatment is surgical resection.

Case report:

A 27-year-old female with nonspecific right hypochondrium abdominal pain. Tomographic report: left liver lobe tumor, negative tumor markers; tumor resection with liver segments II, III and IVB is performed. Fibrolamellar hepatocarcinoma is reported. Patient is sent to an adjuvant therapy based on sorafenib.

Conclusion:

This type of hepatocarcinoma does not have established chemotherapy, despite the high possibility of relapse even with optimal surgical resection, which is why an early diagnosis is required.

Keywords : Fibrolamellar hepatocarcinoma; Liver tumor; Sorafenib.
