Abstract
LOPEZ-GARCIA, Alicia M. et al. Late parotid and thyroid metastases of renal carcinoma. A case report. Gac. mex. oncol. [online]. 2021, vol.20, suppl.1, pp.125-129. Epub Aug 22, 2022. ISSN 2565-005X. https://doi.org/10.24875/j.gamo.20000128.
Thyroid and parotid glands metastases hardly ever happen, being even atypical the presence of both conditions in the same patient. This is the case of a 60-year-old male, who in 2009 underwent a left radical nephrectomy with diagnosis of renal carcinoma with clear cell variant. In 2015, he presented a thyroid mass. A total thyroidectomy was performed with histopathologic report of clear cell carcinoma. Eleven years after the initial diagnosis, the patient presented a left parotid mass. The positron emission tomography - computed tomography confirmed intraparotid hypermetabolic activity. Fine-needle aspiration biopsy reported renal carcinoma metastasis. The patient underwent left superficial parotidectomy. Histopathologic report concluded metastasis of clear cell carcinoma.
