HERNANDEZ-MARTINEZ, Alejandra et al. Pulmonary metastasis due to undifferentiated sarcoma: First case reported in Colombia. Gac. mex. oncol. [online]. 2022, vol.21, suppl.1, pp.7-11. Epub Sep 11, 2023. ISSN 2565-005X. https://doi.org/10.24875/j.gamo.21000054.
Uterine sarcomas are equivalent to 1% of all malignant neoplasms of the female genital tract making them rare, with an annual worldwide incidence between 0.5 and 3.3 cases per 100,000 women. The signs and symptoms are nonspecific, so the main clinical challenge for the treatment this pathology is timely diagnosis; but in many cases, they are diagnosed as incidental findings after hysterectomy. We describe the case of a 63-year-old woman with a history of endometrial adenocarcinoma treated surgically with total hysterectomy, which presented with persistent respiratory symptoms two years later due to metastatic involvement.
