Abstract

A 17-year-old woman with no significant history, with symptoms of right hypoglossal nerve palsy, hemiparesis and alteration of left proprioceptive sensitivity, with a magnetic resonance that shows a hyperintense mass on T2, dependent on the right hypoglossal duct, and microscopy shows Verocay bodies. Diagnosing as medial bulbar syndrome due to hypoglossal schwannoma, she received radiotherapy at a dose of 54Gy in conventional fractionation. And obtaining a complete imaging response 4 years after treatment, with neurological improvement.
