Perioperative management of hepatectomy in a patient with cirrhosis: Case report and literature review. Gac. mex. oncol. [online]. 2022, vol.21, suppl.1, pp.42-46. Epub Sep 11, 2023. We report the case of a patient with a recent diagnosis of hepatocarcinoma and liver cirrhosis associated with Hepatitis C reported 11 years ago, who underwent right hepatectomy. The implication of patients with chronic liver disease such as cirrhosis is the increase in post-resection morbidity and mortality. Liver resection in most cases is the most effective treatment for cancer clearance. Surgical and anesthetic management has evolved and extensive resections can now be performed in complex patients.
