Abstract

Background:

Pulmonary blastoma is a rare and aggressive malignant neoplasm that represents approximately 0.25 to 0.5% of primary malignant lung neoplasms with a prevalence of less than 0.25 per million.

Clinical case:

47-year-old man, smoker with progressive dyspnea who underwent biopsy and immunohistochemical studies and was diagnosed with: classic biphasic pulmonary blastoma. Treatment was established, however, the patient died.

Conclusion:

This tumor represented a challenge given that in the literature there is no treatment with solid epidemiological evidence.

Relevance:

this neoplasm is a challenge and is the first case reported in Colombia.
