Abstract

This paper is organized as follows: by way of introduction, it describes the railway that connects Chihuahua with the Pacific Ocean through its route and from a historical perspective. To gain a better understating of the space-time framework of this railway, it gives an account on how the Construction of this line began in 1884, and how work on the railroad was interrupted by the Mexican Revolution. Section two describes how during the revolutionary process the railroad had a large impact on both, revolutionaries fighting tactics and the actions of the federal government. Section three discusses the collateral damage that the revolutionary process had on the railway. The last section shows what happed to the rail network and its construction at the end of the Revolution.
