This paper offers some contributions to the ongoing debate on how to approach the evaluation of historical personalities and the methodological requirements to develop it successfully in History of the Modern World Class for tenth grade in Cuba. The finding presented in this paper derived from the research project "History, identity and educational innovation" undertaken by the History Department of the José Martí University of Sancti Spíritus, from the bibliographic consultation of the didactics of social sciences and the detailed study of the new program of History of the Modern World that is proposed as part of an educational improvement program.
