Resumen

GARCIA JURADO, Roberto. Machiavelli: the infortune of a renaissance politician. Estud. polít. (Méx.) [online]. 2018, n.45, pp.57-82. ISSN 0185-1616.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.24484903e.2018.45.67129.

One of the most lively and intense polemics around Machiavelli's work is the definition of the date on which he wrote two of his capital works, The Prince and Discourses on the First Decade of Livy. Beyond a mere biographical curiosity, the discussion makes sense because there are authors who perceive very different ideological contents between one and another text, so to suppose a considerable chronological separation between the two contributes to their argumentation. However, in this paper the author assume that the writing of both works is very close, almost synchronous, and above all it is demonstrated that the ideological approach of both is very similar.

Palabras llave : Machiavelli; republic; prince; Florence; politics.
