Resumen
ROTH SENEFF, Andrew. Google, open access, and information and communication technologies (ICT) in contemporary political economy. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2012, vol.33, n.130, pp.157-176. ISSN 2448-7554.
The debate between the economic model oriented towards supply and the one that stresses demand has special relevance when it comes to determining the benefits introduced by new information and communication technologies (ICT). In the transition towards the dominion of supply-oriented models, contentious tendencies have arisen between the initiatives of private corporations to channel access to scientific and humanistic knowledge, on the one hand, and, on the other, projects that emerge from public sector institutions. In diverse contemporary settings, this conflict can be perceived in relation to the divulgation of knowledge that has been transformed through ICT.
