This study analyzes the role of businessmen in the economic and sociopolitical development of Tijuana from the early 20th century until the present. It describes the economic history of the city, while examiningthe particularities of the relationship between the business sector and political power. Two key discussions include: the limitations preventing the business sector from becoming an economic group and the role of businessmen in the framework of power switching.
