LOYO BRAMBILA, Aurora y RODRIGUEZ, María de Jesús. Female Activist Teachers in Mexico City: Subjectivity and Contexts. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2007, vol.69, n.1, pp.139-169. ISSN 2594-0651.
This study utilizes narrations from interviews with 16 female activist teachers in Mexico City and uses the coercion-election analytical axis to explore the mediations existing between the biographical dimension and the institutional environment within which their vital experience takes place: family, school and trade union. Although the attributes inherent in female teachers' identity tend to be totalizing and to product stability because of the way they connect with gender determinations, the other part of the binomial, in other words, the activists' identity, tends to subvert this connection, introducing tension and conflict.
