Resumen
ZARAMA-MARQUEZ, Fabio et al. Cornual ectopic pregnancy. Management combined with metotrexate and hysterotomy and laparoscopic evacuation. A case report. Ginecol. obstet. Méx. [online]. 2019, vol.87, n.10, pp.676-679. Epub 20-Ago-2021. ISSN 0300-9041. https://doi.org/10.24245/gom.v87i10.2924.
BACKGROUND:
The treatment of ectopic pregnancy includes the use of methotrexate with folinic acid, salpingectomy, abdominal hysterectomy, or cornual resection by laparotomy. The objective of the case is to demonstrate that laparoscopy is important in the resolution of these pregnancies because of safety and effectiveness.
CLINICAL CASE:
27-year-old woman attended the emergency department with abdominal pain. Diagnostic studies identified cornual pregnancy, which was decided to be managed with methotrexate and subsequent resolution by minimally invasive surgery in order to minimize the risks and improve the reproductive prognosis
CONCLUSIONS:
The success of the management of the present case, allows us to conclude that the combined management: medical with methotrexate and surgical with hysterotomy and laparoscopic evacuation, is a viable and safe alternative in cases of early diagnosis and hemodynamic stability of the patients.
