It was found that ozone oxidation of a gold and silver mineral changed strongly their structure, getting so a silver dissolution of 70.78 % during 48 h of cyanidation process, while with the same time of reaction of a cyanided mineral without preoxidation only 61.7 % of silver was dissolved. On the other hand, gold dissolution for the same preoxided mineral was of the order of 93 % during 48 h; in contrast, the amount of gold dissolved during cyanidation of the same mineral without oxidation was of the order of 40 % during 72 h of reaction.
