Introduction: Gallstone ileus is one of the etiologies of intestinal occlusion, which is originated from an enterobiliary fi stula and the passage of a large size gallstone through it, appearing frequently in advanced age patients, with multiple comorbidities and a high surgical risk.
Case Report: In this report we discuss the case of a 62 year old female patient with multiple comorbidities, who is under anticoagulation due to an antecedent of a pulmonary thromboembolism, which presented with gallstone ileus, diagnosed preoperatively. We also review the pathology, diagnostic methods and treatment options.
