Introduction: As pancreatic cancer during pregnancy is very rare, there are few cases reported in the medical literature worldwide.
Case Report: The case is presented of a 39 year-old female patient who was in 10.4 weeks gestation of pregnancy was seen in the clinic due to the presence of severe epigastric abdominal pain and slight transvaginal bleeding. She subsequently developed an obstructive jaundice syndrome. An endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP) was performed without rearesolution of the jaundice. She also began with a fever within 24 hours, with leukocytosis and pain. A cholecystectomy was performed by open surgery, finding pancreatic cancer with metastases to omentum and stomach, as well as compression of common bile duct.
Conclusion: The presence of pancreatic adenocarcinoma associated with pregnancy has been reported in the medical literature only 4 times from 1866 to 1997. There are no controlled epidemiological studies. ERCP has been described in pregnancy with special care when being performed. Open cholecystectomy is the most recommended surgical technique in the first trimester.
