In 4^a World Conference on Women, held in Peking in September of 1995, and sponsored by the United Nations, in the document "Women and the Mass media", several reflections that, on one hand, insist on the increment of women's participation and the access in the expression and decision making in and through the mass media, and on the other, they insist on promoting a balanced and not stereotyped image of women in mass media. In this work, parting from the confirmation of women in the scientific field, we make some reflections on the need of an Expert Women Data Base as a great opportunity to visualize them in the media discourse.
