Resumen
ZAMUDIO-SANCHEZ, Francisco José et al. A socioeconomic stratification to compare two moments of the development in Mexico: 1930-2010. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2018, vol.18, n.56, pp.259-289. ISSN 2448-6183. https://doi.org/10.22136/est2018982.
A socioeconomic index was built using information of 1930, which was transferred to 2010's quasi-equivalent features to be compared. The aim was to measure the socioeconomic changes in the country through this index and with the available information. To validate the index, our results were contrasted against the ones by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico, which were very similar. A significant progress during the period 1930-2010 was found, although there are backlogs to address. During the period, there was a significant shift of the population from the low stratum to the medium one.
