Resumen

SAMANIEGO BREACH, Norma. Labor Share of National Income: Revisiting a Forgotten Issue. Economía UNAM [online]. 2014, vol.11, n.33, pp.52-77. ISSN 1665-952X.

This paper intends to revisit the functional distribution of income in Mexico. It aims at reviewing the evolution of the labor share of national income in the last 30 years. It compares its behavior with that of other countries and with recent global trends. In trying to reach this objective, an examination of the trajectory of the Mexican economy in terms of growth, job creation and wage developments is essential. The country's pattern of insertion into the new global environment, technological change and labor institutions also play a significant role. These are all central elements in trying to understand the evolution of aggregate factor income distribution and some of the issues affecting inequality and growth potential.

Palabras llave : Aggregate Factor; Income Distribution; Employment; Wages.
