ZEPEDA MARTINEZ, Roberto. The Transition from Trump to Biden: Implications for Mexico-U.S. Relations. An Analysis with a National and Sub-national Approach. Norteamérica [online]. 2021, vol.16, n.1, pp.247-268.  Epub 25-Oct-2021. ISSN 2448-7228.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cisan.24487228e.2021.1.491.

Democrat Joseph Biden’s taking office in 2021 represents a new era with multiple implications that should be analyzed. This article examines the changes in the approach to U.S. domestic and foreign policy in the transition from Trump to Biden. The author also analyzes the prospects for U.S.-Mexico relations both on the national and sub-national levels in the Biden era. His main argument is that Joe Biden’s administration marks a noteworthy change from Trump’s. Among the notable changes are the federal government’s strategy for dealing with the effects of the covid-19 pandemic, as well as a perceptible turn on foreign policy issues such as migration, the environment, and security, all of which will create more advantages than disadvantages for Mexico.
