PADILLA, Juan Manuel y TORRES RAMIREZ, Mireya A.. La demografía zacatecana a comienzos del Siglo XXI. Migr. desarro [online]. 2012, vol.10, n.19, pp.117-142. ISSN 1870-7599.
This paper is the result of a demographic study of the state of Zacatecas, during the first decade of the century, with the support of the theory of demographic transition. It shows, first of all, a demographic declining, according with what has been happening since late last century, noting, however, a sudden increase in 2010. This increase is associated with the low rates of immigration to the United States caused by the U.S. economic crisis, because the natural increase of the state has continued to decline. In second place, it appears that, according to the last stage of the demographic transition, welive a maturation and aging of the population process, with all its implications. Finally, it shows a high population dispersion and urban growth concentrated around the city of Zacatecas-Guadalupe.
