Congenital insensitivity to pain is an extremely rare dis - ease. It affects children at very early ages of life. There are five different hereditary neuropathies with disorders in the sensitivity of autosomal characater. All varieties are characterized by insensitivity to pain, mutilation mainly of the distal phalanges of the fingers, teeth frequently pro-duce injury to the soft tissues of the mouth and tongue. Some of these varieties of disease have mental disorders and hidrosis. There is no treatment and death at an early age of life often occurs. There is not a specific anaesthetic management.
