Resumen

MARTINEZ-SALAZAR, Guillermo Genaro  y  MARTINEZ-DELGADO, Eduardo. Pregnant with heart disease and pulmonary arterial hypertension: Subarachnoid Anesthesia: Description of the case. Anest. Méx. [online]. 2019, vol.31, n.1, pp.62-66. ISSN 2448-8771.

It is a fact that the normal physiological changes of pregnancy may exacerbate cardiovascular illnesses existing prior to pregnancy. For the majority of women with some form of heart disease and pregnancy, this is today associated with favourable results; However, even with the modern advances in treatment, it is still a high incidence of morbidity and mortality. The anaesthetic management of pregnant women with cardiovascular disease, must be individualized, and a multidisciplinary team must plan the termination of pregnancy at the most convenient time for the binomial mother son.

Some case reports and small series, have described the anesthetic management of these patients, but, in general, there is little data justifying the choice of anesthetic technique over another. We present the case of a pregnant patient with congenital heart disease acianogena, consisting of interatrial communication type ostium secundum of 23 mm, estenosis moderate pulmonary valvular pulmonary hypertension.
