Resumen
VILLALOBOS, Aremis; AGUILAR-SALINAS, Carlos A; ROMERO-MARTINEZ, Martín y ROJAS-MARTINEZ, Rosalba. Population profiles associated with attendance at preventive services to screening tests. Ensanut 2018-19. Salud pública Méx [online]. 2020, vol.62, n.6, pp.754-766. Epub 15-Ago-2022. ISSN 0036-3634. https://doi.org/10.21149/11556.
Objective:
We describe the profile of the population aged 20 years and over, who go for a diabetes and hypertension screening test.
Materials and methods:
Based on the information from Ensanut 2018-19, two multiple logistic regression models were obtained with variables associated with the detection of diabetes and hypertension. Profiles were generated based on combinations of the variables included in the model. Increases in probabilities were plotted according to profiles.
Results:
Individuals with a family history of the disease, comorbidities or unhealthy lifestyles composed the group that seek for diabetes and hypertension screening.
Conclusions:
The health system should look for those with the highest risk of developing or having undiagnosed diabetes and hypertension, using risk questionnaires, type score. This population should undergo screening studies and, where appropriate, diagnoses.
