LUNA-CRUZ, Alfonso; ESCAMILLA-GARCIA, José Luis; BARRERA-PARDO, Sergio Iván  y  LOERA-ALVARADO, Esperanza. Population fluctuation of Diaphorina citri Kuwayama (Hemiptera: Liviidae) in the valley of Apatzingán, Michoacán. Acta Zool. Mex [online]. 2018, vol.34, e3412144.  Epub 30-Nov-2018. ISSN 2448-8445.  https://doi.org/10.21829/azm.2018.3412144.

The population fluctuation of Diaphorina citri in the Apatzingan Valley is reported and correlated with temperature and precipitation during the most important time of mexican lemon management. Diaphorina citri was present all seasons of the year and its highest population point was recorded in August, under a mid-temperature of 30 °C and density of 2 to 6 insect/trap; in September the temperature decreased (28 °C) and the D. citri population get down too (0.5 to 2 insect/trap). However, in October the med-temperature was at 27.5 °C and the pest density was 2 insect/trap. Finally, in November and December, both the temperature and pest density lightly decreased, the mid-temperature to 26.5 °C and the insect/trap to 1.5-2. A positive correlation was found between the high temperatures and the increase of D. citri populations.
