PEREZ RUIZ, Abel. Moda y trabajo: la expresión sociocultural de un "saber hacer". Nueva antropol [online]. 2011, vol.24, n.75, pp.43-70. ISSN 0185-0636.
The main aim of this article is to analyze fashion as part of a certain type of knowledge applied to work; an angle that has been little studied. According to this perspective, fashion is a cultural form orienting certain dressing practices through consumption, but at the same time its projection produces particular working modes in the realm of the apparel manufacturing industry. Within these labor circles the application of "trends" undergoes strongly heterogeneous inten-tionality which give meaning to the appropriation and reproduction of dressing. In this context, fashion facilitates the presence of differentiated productive know-how that is tested daily as part of a social relationship. It is in this process where "tropicalization" of dress operates within particular "aesthetic positioning," which reduce the distances and approaches surrounding industrial apparel labor in its constant communication with the flow of fashion.
