LOPEZ-TELOXA, Leticia et al. Determination of interrelations within the Ramsar site “Presa Manuel Ávila Camacho” seen as a complex system. Acta univ [online]. 2019, vol.29, e1772. Epub 05-Nov-2019. ISSN 2007-9621. https://doi.org/10.15174/au.2019.1772.
Ramsar Sites are of great ecological and socioeconomic importance because of their multiple functions, values, and attributes. Many of these sites present varying levels of social, economic, and environmental degradation, such as the Ramsar Site Presa Manuel Avila Camacho. In order to understand the dynamics of the ecosystem, in this work it is proposed to approach it as a complex system, since there are multiple processes related to its degradation. Based on previous studies on the current conditions, and considering the Ramsar Site as a complex system, the main interrelations that exist between the subsystems forming this complex system and the elements composing the subsystems were determined, as well as the levels in which the processes are developed within it. It is concluded that if this type of process continues to be within the same pattern, the loss of the wetland is imminent.
