Resumen

FERNANDEZ NADAL, Estela. La condición humana como problema filosófico en Arturo Roig. La conformación de la sujetividad en las fronteras de la contingencia. Latinoamérica [online]. 2005, n.40, pp.73-92. ISSN 2448-6914.

In Arturo Roig’s texts, there is an intimate relationship between thoughts about human condition and his concern about Latin America. This article explores this relationship and raises the following interpretative thesis: if the focus on our America reveals the human condition, that is because it is not devoid of domination; and domination is never clearer than when one fights against it. The subject is the anthropological entity that synthesizes the dignity of human condition and its favorite way of expression, which is the rebellion against oppression forms that objectify and reify it. That is why, according to Roig, the favorite symbols of subjectivity are Caliban and Antigone: the slave that reverts meaning of “spiritual culture” domination imposed by the master, until it becomes an instrument of liberation; and the woman who does not recognize the authority of institutionalized law and denounces it based on a subjective morality that demands justice.
