Resumen

CRUZ RODRIGUEZ, Edwin. An Impossible Object. On the Analysis of the National Phenomenon. En-clav. pen [online]. 2015, vol.9, n.17, pp.25-49. ISSN 2594-1100.

This paper proposes an analysis of the nation as the result of a hegemonic struggle between concrete subjects with diverse and antagonistic national projects. First, it analyzes the principal ways in which the category of nation has been formulated, indicating the limits that they pose for the comprehension of the phenomenon and, secondly, it reconstructs the analysis of the nation as a hegemonic struggle. More than a transcendent essence or a set of tangible features, the nation is an historical construction and artificial result of specific power relations. Consequently, the analysis must focus on the struggle between national projects played out by specific subjects that compete to give it meaning and install hegemony.

Palabras llave : Nation; Hegemonic Struggle; Historicity; Subjects; National Projects.
