Resumen

SALAS, Gonzalo. Amanda Labarca and the early reception of her literary work in Chile. En-clav. pen [online]. 2024, vol.18, n.35, e648.  Epub 11-Mar-2024. ISSN 2594-1100.  https://doi.org/10.46530/ecdp.v0i35.648.

This article is a review of more than twenty books on literature, literary criticism, literary history and other related subjects published in Chile to survey the first reception of Amanda Labarca’s work in the field of literature, prior to her death in 1975. The article is mainly divided into two sections, the first related to authors who consider her, either through a positive or negative criticism and secondly, a criticism that makes her invisible. Although there were more authors who made her invisible versus those who considered her, it is important to keep in mind that Labarca was also known during her lifetime for her literary work in the various genres she published (novels, short stories, essays and criticism). The second reception is in full swing and will give much to talk about this important author whose ideology remains to be discovered.
