This paper presents an analysis of “The San Pascualito wagon” legend, as it is known in Chiapas. A theoretical-analytical framework is developed around the legend, its orality, visuality and the relationship of these aspects through the symbol. We also propose Image as knowledge and research resource. Methodologically we implement the ethnographic interview as a source of approximation to orality. We also analyze artistic expressions around the legend. The results were several visual confections that analyze the symbols of the legend simultaneously both in their oral and visual character. In conclusion, we aspire to knowledge based on the dialogue between art, design and social sciences.
