ROCHA LEON, Willington. The complexity of the simple: Metaphor of ancestral weaving and transdiscipline. Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2023, vol.18, n.35, e0002011. Epub 27-Nov-2023. ISSN 2007-8110. https://doi.org/10.22201/crim.20078110e.2023.1162.
The way science is done significantly influences the social construction of reality, sometimes underestimating other forms of knowledge, other wisdoms that have a bearing on the way of thinking, feeling and communicating of the human being, as does scientific knowledge. This paper aims to analyze the relationship between scientific knowledge and ancestral wisdom of weaving from the perspective of complexity. This work was carried out from an exploratory study based on a documentary analysis, a dialogical exercise with people who practice weaving from the perspective of ancestry, as well as the experience that the researcher acquired during five years with the practice of weaving according to the customs and traditions of the Muisca community of the town of Soacha (Colombia). The results of this research demonstrate a similarity between the task of scientific knowledge and the ancestral wisdom of weaving, as simple and complex systems from which new knowledge emerges. It concludes by emphasizing that, through the practice of weaving, we can observe the relationships that arise between disciplinarity and multi, pluri, inter, trans disciplinary, and how these are associated with the transformation of knowledge in science and in everyday life.
