Resumen

SALGUEIRO BARRIO, Roi. Territory and urbanization: approaches to the post-capitalist world space. Rev. filos. Univ. Iberoam. [online]. 2023, vol.55, n.154, pp.138-157.  Epub 17-Mayo-2024. ISSN 2954-4602.  https://doi.org/10.48102/rdf.v55i154.171.

This article explores the value that spatial notions and strategies can have to move towards a post-capitalist society. The planetary expansion of capital, commonly known as globalization, has been accompanied by the planetary extension of urbanization, to the point that both are inseparable. As has been repeatedly theorized by geographers and urban planners such as Henri Lefebvre, David Harvey and Manuel de Solà-Morales, urbanization is not a super cultural structure, but rather a production factor that has acted as a fundamental engine of capitalist development. The possibility of a post-capitalist society therefore requires questioning the idea of urbanization and developing alternative categories. This article examines the notion of territory and the value of territorial design as agents of change that allow the development of a positive biopolitics and new links between local conditions and singularities, processes and global problems.

Palabras llave : Post-capitalism; urbanization; territory; globalization; biopolitics.
