This article provides a new perspective regarding historical issues and the textual connections between the Crónica mexicayotl and the hypothetically lost source with Mexica Tenocha origin, commonly known as the Crónica X. This work presents an exhaustive revision, not only of the previous literature, but also of the available data and analysis associated with the Crónica X, the Crónica Mexicayotl, and the Crónica mexicana, as well as a specific comparison between these last two documents.
