WINOCUR, Rosalía et al. How determinant are socio-digital networks in an election year?. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2022, vol.84, n.1, pp.127-158. Epub 22-Mar-2022. ISSN 2594-0651. https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2022.1.60227.
This article presents the findings of an anthropological investigation on the practices of consumption and socialization of political information, conducted in the context of the 2019 presidential election in Uruguay. The research sought to investigate the meaning of practices paying attention to the perspective of the subjects themselves. The results question the allegedly unilateral power of socio-digital networks to inform or misinform public opinion. It demonstrates that the family, household, and the personal and media authority referents have not lost their central role in the socialization and validation of political information.
