Resumen

TORRE S., Rocío G. de la  y  BETANCOURT, Israel. Integrated nanomaterials for the development of a primary prevention equipment facing Covid-19. Mundo nano [online]. 2021, vol.14, n.27, e0024.  Epub 11-Dic-2020. ISSN 2448-5691.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485691e.2021.27.69652.

The interest of this review arises from the impact that Covid-19 has had worldwide. Information related to the general description of viruses is provided, up to SARS-CoV-2. These include the possible origin of the pandemic, the recommendations issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), and finally the alternatives currently available to combat SARS-CoV-2 based on the experience obtained with other viruses and bacteria. Within these options, some possible areas of application of nanotechnology are presented, as a diagnostic, treatment and/or prevention tool. Finally, the review focuses on mentioning some of the developments that have been carried out in different countries for the development of personal protective equipment (PPE) and filter material in general, as a primary prevention mechanism against viral infections.

Palabras llave : Covid-19; primary prevention; nanomaterials.
