This paper aims to analyze the experiences that trans people have in the exercise of the free development of their personality according to their gender identity, in educational and work contexts. This was developed from the voices of the protagonists -three women and three trans men, between 19 and 60 years of age since they are the ones who face multiple challenges derived from living in a society that sanctions those who do not abide by the demands and mandates of hegemonic sexuality. The study was qualitative, non-experimental, and exploratory in nature with a transactional temporality. Among the results, they highlight transphobic ideas and practices associated with them as individuals; the obstacles they face, and the reactions they manifest in the absence of information and references about trans people, in educational and work contexts.
