In this work we have chosen some of the great challenges facing European Union at this moment, such as security, globalisation or environment protection. Europe is at present simplifying its Treaties and introducing new consensual bases to face the future. Following the failure in approving a Treaty of Constitution for Europe it is essential that the reform under course serves to the aim of resolving the great Strategic challenges facing the continent.
