DE ANDREA S., Francisco José. Key Structural Reforms Needed to Recast Political Power in Mexico. Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2010, vol.43, n.129, pp.1027-1053. ISSN 2448-4873.
Near the end of 2009, Mexico finds itself tragically and unfortunately at a critical crossroads of its history. In the mexican scenario we witness the emergence of four crisis: the economic and financial meltdown, the political and constitutional impasse, a public health nightmare brought on by the novel AH1N1 virus, and a domestic police and military structure caught in a quagmire of corruption and inefficiency. Thus, it is under the above context that Mexico urgently needs to recast its entire political system via drastic changes of the executive and legislative branches of government -as suggested in this essay- in order to solve the aforesaid state of stagnation.
