MURCIA SERRANO, Inmaculada. Of God and the Sublime. An. Inst. Investig. Estét [online]. 2008, vol.30, n.93, pp.137-160. ISSN 0185-1276. https://doi.org/10.22201/iie.18703062e.2008.93.2272.
In one of his most influential texts, the Lutheran theologian Rudolf Otto established a relation between the Numinous, a significant overflowing of the sacred, and the sublime, a category originating in aesthetics. He traced this relation back to Kant's critical philosophy, in particular to The Critique of Judgment, where this correspondence can already be clearly discerned. This article carries out a pondered assessment of this alleged correspondence between the sublime and the Numinous in order to identify, from the point of view of Kantian aesthetics, those aspects in which they resemble and those in which they differ.
