The present article focuses on education in the 21st century, an issue of capital importance in the current context of politics, economy, society and culture. The author, in a first instance, based on data of the World Education Forum, held in Dakar, Senegal, presents a broad view of reality and the educational challenges in many countries. According to different scopes of writers, it is analyzed the perspectives of education in the 21st century. Finally, the author presents, mainly concerning to developing countries, some suggestions for education in the 21st century.
