Resumen
MORENO OLIVOS, Tiburcio. The evaluation culture and the improvement of the school. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2011, vol.33, n.131, pp.116-130. ISSN 0185-2698.
The importance that the evaluation has acquired in the last two decades in our country has produced important changes in school culture. Some changes had been made for the better, but some have had negative consequences. Although in Mexico evaluation culture is beginning, its capacity for power and influence are undeniable. We live in a time of constant evaluations. There has been a lot of investment in the business of evaluation, however, this phenomena does not seem to contribute to better teaching and learning. The national standardized test results seem to have little positive impact in basic education. The school is far from reducing the social gap, in fact, it confirms and deepens it. If there is any hope that through evaluation education improvements can be achieved, the bet seems to stay with formative class evaluations.
