PLASCENCIA GASPAR, Leticia; RAMOS LARA, María de la Paz y LOZANO MEJIA, Juan Manuel. Professional training for physics at UNAM: The path of the study program. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2011, vol.33, n.131, pp.155-175. ISSN 0185-2698.
This work presents, for the first time in higher education history, a complete review of the first physics study program created in Mexico, at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. With exhaustive and conscientious research on the primary sources, we have located the study plans belonging to the period 1935-1967. During this period the career suffered changes on its recognition as a sciences master degree, theoretical physics, experimental physics and astronomy. In the decade of the sixties, the growth of institutions for the science of physics and the scientific community demanded a in depth review of their goals, objectives, orientation and subjects, as a result the 1967 study plan stands as the most recent program in the history of the study of physics studies. This plan, that only considers the physics undergrad, is still in force today (2011 plan).
