MENDEZ COCA, David. The influence of intelligence and the methodology of teaching in the resolution of Physics problems. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2014, vol.36, n.146, pp.30-44. ISSN 0185-2698.
Within the process of teaching and learning Physics, the methodology of the teaching is key to facilitating learning; intelligence, for its part, is a quality of each student and, as such, influences the teaching of this discipline. Three (14-year-old) student groups were explained the concepts of thermodynamics using three different methodologies: one using traditional methodology, another by way of cooperative learning, and the third group using the expositional methodology through the use of new technologies. Measurements were taken regarding general intelligence and logical-mathematical intelligence, along with verbal and spatial intelligence, through the use of an examination. The learningfunctionality regarding Physics problems was observed by the use of both pretest andposttest evaluations. It was found that the level of intelligence and the methodology used in the classroom environment significantly influenced the resolution of the Physics problems in question.
