VELASCO ANGULO, Cecilia  y  CARDENOSO RAMIREZ, Olga. Evaluation of self-regulated learning skills based on educational level and gender of students in administrative degree programs. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2020, vol.42, n.169, pp.8-20.  Epub 15-Feb-2021. ISSN 0185-2698.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iisue.24486167e.2020.169.58687.

This study investigated differences in self-regulated learning skills of university student based on grade (2nd, 5th, 7th, and 9th semester) and gender. Two hundred and fifty-one (251) Ecuadorian students enrolled in four administrative degree programs completed the MSLQ (Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire), in addition to providing other academic information. The results showed that students extrinsic motivation falls as they advance in their degree program; valuation of academic tasks drops between the 2nd and 5th semesters; and the ability to effectively manage study time and space increases between the 7th and 9th semesters. As regards gender, women scored higher than men in use of review strategies, meaningful organization of subject, and effective management of time and the work environment, in working to achieve academic goals.
