This article explains a model of educational intervention focused on collaborative learning, proposal which takes social interaction processes into consideration together with the collaboration and roles of students and professors which play a relevant part in the management and autonomy of learning. The Institutional Tutorship Program undertaken by the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES), as an instrument to reinforce and strengthen academic and psychosocial aspects on students, is an umbrella that offers the possibility to develop programs leading to education quality, therefore, models such as collaborative learning meet the ways in which school Tutorship orients its objectives. This article emerges from a research project (2004-2006) undertaken by the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo in order to implement the Collaborative Learning methodology in the Social Sciences and Liberal Arts’ area.
