Means of analysis and research are suggested in order to answer the question on ways in which knowledge is organized by areas of discipline through a historic vision, with emphasis on regulations of the western culture, both in the disciplinary field and on its relation with the political organization of such societies. Under such perspective, the case of the Seminario Real de Minería (opened on 1792) is taken as example of an organization which activities on the dissemination and generation of knowledge gives room to the development, briefly, of a proposal: enrollment requirement, collaboration at other educational levels and linkages with society and governments, through the 19th century, introduce us to an idea of knowledge (scientific) and the vastness of ideas it bears upon combining with specific interests of groups that make up society around it.
