The distance higher education is analyzed in accordance with the technological stages that they accompany to the society of knowledge in the beginnings of the XXI century. Some aspects of the problems of the distance education in Latin America are underlined as well possible roads of approach placing the technologies underneath to the programs and the persons present in the educational relationships, independently that it is witness or to distance, like key elements in the horizon of the society of knowledge, characterized by an educational hybrid system of significant learnings and management of knowledge.
